What do those credentials
They mean that I have dedicated my career to countless hours of training, education, and supervision in child development, neurodevelopmental disorders, executive functioning skills, developmentally appropriate counseling approaches, and attachment-focused parenting.
How can I help?
As a Play Therapist I have expertise in understanding the behaviors of children and how to therapeutically support them while they work toward resolving negative feelings and learning new ways of coping. I utilize toys, games, and expressive art for skill building and therapeutic processing, with the ultimate goal of tapping into the root cause of behavioral and emotional concerns to facilitate a reduction in symptoms.
As a Counselor I provide a safe, supportive space for teens to process current stressors and identify concrete tools that can be used in the present.
Through collaborative Parent Consultation Sessions,I spend time individually with you to discuss your concerns, your child’s progress in treatment, and identify ways to support your child while they work towards their goals.
We are a team!
Did I mention that I collaborate with school staff and other providers on your child’s team to ensure that we are ALL on the same page and focused on helping your child achieve their goals?

What is Play Therapy?
Play therapy is the use of toys, games, and expressive art as tools for a child to work through and therapeutically process thoughts, feelings and stressors. Play therapy also incorporates the use of play to teach children concrete coping and social skills.
Play therapy takes into account a child’s cognitive and emotional development, and how that impacts treatment options.
Play is the natural language of all children. It allows them to process thoughts and feelings that they may otherwise be unable to express through words. Play also provides a familiar tool for children to learn social skills, connect with others, and learn how to manage their emotions.
How Can Creativity & Play in Therapy Help My Teen?
While teenagers have the cognitive ability to engage in more traditional "talk therapy" approaches, many teens come into therapy with their guards up and walls out.
Through expressive arts-based and play-therapy interventions teens learn that therapy can be a laid-back, creative, and fun experience. I find that this helps them lower those walls allowing them to engage in both talk-based and creative-based processing of thoughts and feelings.
